1. Be focused
Your aim in your essay writing is to confirm that you are the best candidate for this institution. Assure that you stay focused so that the reader will be capable of staying focused. By being accurate, obvious and organized in your writing your essay will reproduce who you actually are so that the college will want to have you as part of their freshmen class.

It is also your chance to distinguish yourself from your competition. It should emphasize your most important awards and accomplishments and how these shaped you as a person and affected your life.
