1. Write an original, challenging essay
Make sure your essay is remarkable. Start early and spend some time thinking about the topic. Organize and reorganize your ideas until you have come up with the most logical structure to present your argument. Make your thesis statement clear and enlarge your points with supporting evidence. Be original and honest. Highlight your achievements without having to over-embellish them. Just answer the topic entirely and be sure in your ability to communicate efficiently.

2. Include enthusiastic letters of recommendation
You have to choose the right people to write letters of recommendation for you. Come up to a teacher you respect and trust and ask him or her to write these letters for you, and if they hesitate at all, find someone else. Your letters of recommendation will be general support of your educational ability and academic potential. So they must be wounderful.

3. Have a transcript that you can be proud of
You need to have an impressive and challenging transcript packed with testing classes and college prep courses. Your GPA has to be solid, and meet the minimum GPA admission requirements. If you get directly A’s in less than challenging classes, your GPA will be amazing, but your schedule will have been standard at best. You need to actually challenge yourself in high school. Take hard courses and perform brilliantly, and you will have a transcript that you can be proud of.

4. Achieve high standardized test scores
The majority of colleges have minimum admission requirements when it comes to your standardized test score. Take care you have performed well on these exams. Get a test preparation course or hire a tutor to maximize your scores. If you do not satisfied with your results, take the tests once more.

5. Show that you have achievements outside of the classroom
Show the admissions officers your interests. Advertize your participation in organized sports, music, clubs, community affairs, volunteer work and church activities. Show that you are devoted to these endeavors. Let the admissions officers see that you are able to be reliable.
